Baby Pants – The cutest rompers from 0 to 18 months

There’s nothing more delicious than a little baby in cute little rompers. I’ve been wanting to knit some of my own for a long time, and now they’ve finally come off the needles. I often think there is no opportunity to make a blanket in the same style and I have made one in another pattern.

Size: 0-3(6-9)12-18 months.
Needles: 3 and 3.5 mm.
Gauge: 23 stitches in pattern on a 3.5 mm needle, the work must be stretched in pattern.

Recipe

Cast on 63(70)77 sts on needle 3 and work 5 rows of ribbing (knit 1, purl 1)

There is an edge stitch on each side that is knitted throughout the entire piece.

On the next row, make a hole for the tie as follows :

1 Km, 1 purl*2 twisted knit together, yarn over, knit 1, purl 1* 1 KM

Work 5 rows of ribbing again, /1 knit, 1 purl)

Change to a 3.5 mm needle and work the pattern as follows :

  1. Row: 1 KM, *k5, purl 2* k5, 1 KM
  2. Stick: 1 KM. *5 purl, k2 knit* 5 purl, 1 KM

Continue in this pattern until the work measures 20(21)22 cm without being stretched.

Now bind off the first 28(31)34 sts and knit the 7(8)8 sts in pattern and bind off the last 28(31)34 sts.

Knit the 7(8)8 stitches back on the purl side and cast on 28(31)34 new stitches, knit back and cast on 28(31)34 stitches on the other side.

You now have the same number of stitches as before you bound off and you are now on the other side of the pants.

Continue in pattern until the work measures the same as the front.

Finish with ribbing and eyelet rows as on the other piece.

Now pick up stitches for the leg edge.

Pick up 59(65)71 sts or work 5 rows in rib (knit 1, purl 1) and bind off.

Repeat with the other leg.

Ties:

Cast on 4 stitches on a number 3 double-pointed needle and knit 4, do not turn, but slide the stitches back on the needle and knit 4 again, remembering to tighten the binding so the cord is tight.

Continue like this until you think it’s long enough, mine measures about 75 cm.

Assembly: Sew the side seams together and pull the binding through.

Once knitted and sewn together, they are moistened and stretched out in the pattern to the finished size.
Or until you think the pattern looks best.
