The Athens Cardigan is a classic and long cardigan that is super easy to knit. It’s really suitable for all age groups. My daughter Maria would love to model if she got a copy.
I’ve chosen to knit it in one of my favorite yarns, Garzato Fleece. It’s such a great yarn. It can be knitted on needles 5-6 without any problems and runs 225 meters. You don’t need a lot of yarn for a project. Plus, it’s just nice and warm.

Why knit so long without a pattern
That’s what I thought before I started, but the yarn is super nice and one needle takes the other. It’s a great TV knit that I spent a couple of evenings wearing. It may be a bit “boring” to knit because there is no pattern, but it was well received. In fact, it gets used almost every day and that in itself is the greatest reward for knitting it.
The cardigan is knitted from the top down
I designed it to be worked from the top down. I did this mainly because I find it easier, but also because there are so many different types and this way you can choose to knit an XS Small longer or an XL shorter. I find it annoying to knit something where I don’t know from the start if I want longer or not
